Steamboat winters can be a drag sometimes…
Winters in Routt County are tough. While we love to partake in the winter sports that the Yampa Valley has to offer, we don’t always like to bring the alpine cold home with us.
That is why I always like to share ideas that I’ve learned as a local painter with almost a decade of experience and as someone who has worked with local interior designers.
Let’s talk about interior paint colors
One of the things I recommend is to create your color pallette around furniture. Lighter colored furniture is going to enhance the brightness in the room. If you are thinking about enhancing the overall brightness, and not concentrating all the attention towards your furniture, then I recommend warmer whites, tans and beiges.
Some of my favorite are: Sherwin Williams Shoji White SW 7042, Accessible Beige SW 7036, and Natural Linen SW 9109. These colors tend to compliment rather than dominate a space. Furthermore, they attract the natural elements of the warmer months in Steamboat which helps us remember those bright summer days!
I’ve helped transform cold, traditionally dark spaces like basements into warm and inviting hangout spots that are perfect for unwinding after a full day on the slopes. If you need help warming up your Steamboat home then let’s talk!
